hi, i'm Lark.

she/her | EN, CN, JP... sort of

I love stage plays especially when they are musicals, Haikyuu!! and Touken Ranbu. Also coffee.

My all time forever faves are:

  • Souma Shigure (Fruits Basket)
  • Ukitake Juushirou (Bleach)
  • Kita Shinsuke (Haikyuu!!)
  • Kashuu Kiyomitsu (Touken Ranbu)
  • Nie Huaisang (Mo Dao Zu Shi)

Currently, I'm: reading danmei cnovels, watching Kusuriya S2 and playing Balatro (send help, save me from the black hole)

I'm old enough to have been on Livejournal back in the day. Find me now on:

I feel like I’ve said this before, but for posterity, I’ll repeat it: I’m not a fan of the usual kind of New Year’s resolutions, by which I mean vague lofty goals like “this year I’m going to write more” or “this year I’m going to lose 50lb”. What I am a fan of is constant, tiny incremental change and feedback loops. Most of all, I believe in giving yourself grace.

All that said, I still think there is significance in taking a moment to think about the year ahead, because these sorts of thresholds by their very nature invite reflection, and I think that’s always a good place to start. You can only really consider where you’re going when you stop to take a look at where you are now.

For the past few years, rather than resolutions, I have been doing yearly themes. CGP Grey talks more about it in this video. I like themes because they provide a consistent and useful compass across all areas of your life while being very forgiving. Themes don’t ask you to deal in absolutes but rather prompt you to reflect and decide how this theme looks for you, whatever it is. Last year my theme was Year of Healing. For me that meant always choosing what felt kinder, and what felt like it would lead to a more positive relationship with the things that were causing tension in my life. Writing and creativity was a big part of it, but more broadly, the year of healing wound up bringing me back to myself—to letting myself just exist, to accepting that I don’t have to be more. It’s still a work in progress (which really, is just the definition of being human), but at the start of 2025, I had no idea I wanted or needed to get here. I only got here because I had this theme to gently nudge me along the way.

I think a lot of resolutions flop because they don’t take into account the fact that you’re going to change. They don’t leave enough space for you to meander to destinations unknown. I think they can work if you:

  1. make them from a place of curiosity (don’t resolve to do something because it feels like the “right” thing to do, resolve to do it because you’re genuinely curious to see if you can do it, and what will happen if you try),

  2. make them very small and manageable,

  3. keep in mind why you’re making them, and then

  4. check in regularly with yourself and be prepared to change course if it’s not working out, and know that this is not failure, it is adjustment based on feedback. If you have the “why” of it as your North Star (see no. 2), it’s easier to try and find other ways to get there and not feel so wedded to this one thing.

Personally I like to come up with one small thing that will support my theme for the year, and try it for a while. This year my theme is Year of Presence, and my one small thing is going out to take a 10-minute walk everydayish (the “ish” is important—give yourself grace!) without my phone or any devices on me.

Presence is something I found myself coming back to repeatedly across the year of healing. Over and over again, I feel it is hard to be fully alive if my attention is scattershot. It’s a lot tougher than I realised to resist the urge to always be multitasking and just be here with one thing at a time. But I feel it is important. So let’s try.

This post exists because good free things should be shared, and I want to gather them all in a place that’s a bit more permanent than a thread on Bluesky. There is no particular order to these recs, just a grab bag of stuff I like. Enjoy!

  • Capacities: an incredibly well-designed notes app. Let me preface this by saying that I love and still use Obsidian for writing, but for personal notes—especially those with rich media like links, images and YouTube videos—Capacities clicked with me in a way that nothing else has. There are so many thoughtful small touches that just work and feel good to use. Here’s just one example: when you save a link and Capacities detects it is a tweet, it appears in a special category all beautifully laid out like this (single tweet view). I like the company’s principles, and it has an intentionally generous free tier that will be more than enough for most people.

  • Waterfox: a Firefox fork that hits a sweet spot between features and privacy. If you’ve been reading about Firefox inserting more and more AI nonsense into their browser and wondering where to go next, Waterfox is my favourite of the forks. It’s lightweight, has an insanely useful built-in Tree Style Tab sidebar, and this recent changelog about privacy hardening was nice to read.

  • iA Winterfest 2025: wallpapers! the folks at iA make some beautiful apps, and this year end they’re giving away a series of equally beautiful wallpaper. They come in dynamic versions for your Mac too.

  • Basic Apple Guy’s Ugly Christmas Sweater wallpapers, 2025 edition: speaking of wallpaper, I love these for the holiday season. And I generally enjoy all of Basic Apple Guy’s wallpapers.

  • Medito: truly free free meditation app. There is no free tier and then a bunch of paywalled stuff. Everything is free and very high quality. I used to recommend Insight Timer for meditation but I dislike how cluttered it has become, so Medito is my new pick. I like it so much I sent them some money.

  • DAREBEE: speaking of things I liked so much I sent some money voluntarily, here is another. Darebee is an exercise resource where once again, pretty much everything is free. If you want to exercise but have no equipment and don’t know where to start, go here. It is super comprehensive and accessible. Some of their programs are very fun.

  • Atkinson Hyperlegible Next: I just really like this font. It’s a real pleasure to read and write with. Which leads me to…

  • Very good ereader fonts: if you are the owner of a Kobo, grab the these fonts. If you are the owner of any other ereader that lets you load your own fonts, grab these fonts. I really like reading with NV Charter, NV Next and NV Newsreader (available in the Github under extra fonts).

  • Singlefile: browser extension that saves any webpage as a single HTML file. This is the easiest and most elegant solution to link rot that I know of. A folder full of HTML files backed up in whatever cloud storage/external HDD you use is a guarantee you will have those pages forever.

  • myNoise: the best background noise/music generator on the Internet. I’ve mentioned them before, and will mention them again on any reclist of good free things I make, ever. You can make a one-time donation to unlock everything, but even the free sounds are plentiful and excellent. Some of my favourites are Floating, The Architect’s Eclipse and Silver Drift. If you like a more natural ambience, Japanese Garden is fantastic.

I’ve been in a bit of a strange place with my writing over the past couple years. The best way I can describe this place is that it is liminal. This is very mecore but at the same time, one year and ten months is a long time to be liminal. It’s not exactly a comfortable place to be. But I think I have needed to spend this time here.

I say liminal because I feel like someone in transition, though not in the way of tangible movement; it’s more like the feeling of being in a chrysalis. The way caterpillars basically dissolve into mush and then reconstitute into a butterfly. The mush state is a necessary step, but when you are the mush, it’s hard to see how the butterfly will be formed.

I feel like one reason why we're all so drawn to the shortform social media platforms is because we see places like Dreamwidth (and other similar blog-type platforms) as places for longform writing, and it is difficult to consciously set aside time for this, as opposed to dashing off some quick thoughts in two seconds on your preferred shortform site. But I don't think there's any reason why you should have to post a whole essay here every time. I also think that once you get started writing, it's easier than you think to just write the post (case in point, this whole para which has now become longer than what I could post to Bluesky).

Anyway, I am tired of shortform socmed and I want a space that feels less chaotic.

Quick update on what I'm into right now!

  • Watching the second seasons of Kaiju No. 8 and Kusuriya
  • Also watched Karaoke Ikou and am finishing up Captivated, by You. I first watched the live action Karaoke Ikou and really enjoyed it, and now that I have seen the anime version, I really appreciate the mangaka's art style and storytelling, and how well the live action captured it too. I would love to read the originals.
  • Still Touken Ranbu and Toumyu!!! I can't believe I've been here for three years and I am still so in love with the swordboys and the world they have created. I watched the 10th anniversary Toumyu stream at Tokyo Dome in August and I was so, so deeply moved. It is incredible that the production has thrived for ten years and that the actors who originated the roles ten years ago are still doing it, and better than ever. Watching the OG first team perform the songs they first sang in 2015's trial performance made me teary. The boys were also clearly so emotional. Toumyu ♥♥♥
  • After I watched (and loved) Shan He Ling I started reading a whole string of priest's danmei novels—I read Sha Po Lang, Tian Ya Ke, Qi Ye, then Mo Du (which is very very good and just got licensed for official English translation). MXTX will always be queen in one corner of my heart for the way MDZS engulfed me so completely, and for creating Nie Huaisang, but I think I might prefer priest overall for her storytelling and worldbuilding. I actually think priest is a touch better at those things than at the actual romance, and that Shan He Ling as a TV adaptation did better with the romance than Tian Ya Ke the book did (Zhang Zhehan was SO good).
  • I started Hades 2! I turned on God Mode immediately because I wanted to progress the story more than I wanted challenging combat, and so far, I have managed to get past Scylla... one time. I like the sister blades best, and I love the way it feels so different from Hades 1 yet so recognisably Hades. Really, really fun.
  • I watched Lang Ya Bang (Nirvana in Fire) after finishing Shan He Ling because I finally felt like I was in the mood to tackle a long, epic cdrama and... folks, it is one of the best things I have ever watched. It has ruined me for future dramas. I still keep thinking about it. The less I say about it and the less you know about it, the better, going in. I fully recommend it to all and sundry for just spectacular storytelling and acting.

Quick placeholder-ish post for now to say I'm dusting off this old Dreamwidth journal because I want a place that's more permanent than Bsky to post longer-form things and thoughts, and DW seems like the logical place to go since several people I know are here already. So if you're here because you got a notif that I added you/granted you access, that's what's happening!

More to come, lots of housekeeping to do first 🧹

I’ve been using Obsidian for my writing for a while, and I made a video of it to show a friend a while ago. It caught the interest of several other friends as well, so I thought it might be handy to share a longer writeup on how this app works!

Useful features

1. Arranging the panes however you like

If you like having your documents in split view so that you can have notes open next to your WIP, you can do that:

But that’s only scratching the surface of how customisable Obsidian is. You can literally drag and drop panes anywhere. Prefer top-bottom split view instead of L-R? No problem. You can put parts of your workspace left, right, centre, top, bottom, wherever. This is an Obsidian superpower I have not seen in any other app. You can see it in action in my video above.

What I've showcased in my screenshots here is how I prefer to work, with my outline in the top left and everything else below, but you can arrange the panes however you like. If you want to focus on your current file only, you can hide all the sidebars. If you find a pane layout that you like, you can save it as a Workspace so that you can return to it easily if you happen to drag panels around and lose your layout.

2. Outline and folding headers

The combination of the outline pane and folding headers is incredibly useful for me. I won’t spend too much time here because I showcased most of their capabilities in the first video, so here’s a summary of game-changing features I can’t live with:
  • Being able to fold everything and only expand the section I’m working on to focus on it.
  • Being able to drag and drop headings in the outline pane to rearrange sections.
  • Being able to click quickly in the outline pane to jump to the section I want.
When I start noodling with ideas for a new fic, I usually braindump scenes and snippets into a document, which will eventually become the fic draft. I organise them with headers and the outline pane. So I’ll have headers titled like “X and Y go to a bar”, “X realises he messed up”, and the document grows in a mostly non-linear way as I flesh it out. Eventually as the fic takes shape, I use the outline pane to rearrange my sections until they are in an order that makes sense.

3. Links, backlinks and transclusions

In Obsidian, you can link to other documents just by typing [[. You’ll see other files in your vault pop up, and you can type in the one you want. This is very useful if, say, you’re making an outline and you want to link a research note, or you want to link your fic from your research note.

Backlinks show you what other documents have linked to the current file. Here’s an example: you can see I’ve linked to a note called “Haikyuu!!” in the Sample file, and in my Haikyuu!! file, “Sample” shows up under the “Linked Mentions” section. (You can also have backlinks in a separate pane so as not to clutter your document.)

There are many uses of this. Here my “Haikyuu!!” document is empty since I created it for demo purposes, but if I put a link in all my Haikyuu!!-related fic notes and ideas, every single one of those documents will show up in the “Linked Mentions” section of my Haikyuu!! document. It creates a versatile way to connect your notes beyond the structure of folders.

Finally, transclusions. You can actually embed a whole chunk of text from one document to another by putting a ! in front of your [[link]]. Here, you can see that I’ve embedded Scene 1 of “Sample” into my “Sample 3” file.

You may find this most useful when compiling research, e.g. if you had a whole document of research about Tokyo, and you want to pull out a chunk about the Tokyo Skytree into the notes of your current WIP because you’re sending your characters to the Skytree, you can do that.

4. Tags

Personally I don’t use tags very much, but I wanted to mention them because I think Obsidian has a very elegant tag implementation. You can quickly hashtag any note by just typing your tag inline, and you can also nest them, which turns tags into a very useful structural tool.

Sometimes, as I write or edit, I use the #note tag to flag places where I need to go back and fill in something, or just to remind myself of something that I need to mention later. Then I can easily check the #note tag before I post to make sure I’ve caught all of these outstanding niggles.

5. Other small things

Obsidian can do a lot of other things that I think are useful, but don’t need much explanation.
  • You can embed images in notes. Useful for research.
  • You can customise the keyboard shortcut for literally every feature.
  • There is a Templates function where you can create pre-defined templates to populate your documents with, if you frequently use the same kind of structure.
  • There is a Random Note feature that, unsurprisingly, gives you a random note. Handy for serendipitous explorations of your vault.
    • Personally I replace this with the Smart Random Note plugin (more on plugins below), which allows you to define the parameters of your randomness more precisely. The “30 The Dreaming” folder you see in my screenshots contains every single idea, inspirational quote, snippet, image, whatever that might serve as a spark to a future piece of writing, and Smart Random Note gives me a random note from that folder when I activate it, which is great.

Plugins

There are two categories of plugin in Obsidian: Core and Community. Some of the features I’ve mentioned above, such as the outline pane, workspaces and backlinks, can be found in Core. These are features that ship with Obsidian and can be toggled on and off as you wish.

Community plugins are created and maintained by users, and are the other half of what makes Obsidian so wonderfully customisable. Anything you want Obsidian to do, you can find a plugin for it. The ones I use are:
  • UPDATED 13/12/25: Typewriter Scroll is no longer actively maintained, so I would recommend Typewriter Mode instead, which does the same thing and has more features. Typewriter Scroll: centralises your current line in the editing screen. This plugin also comes with the super useful Zen Mode, which you can see in action in my video demo at the start. It greys out all text except for the paragraph you’re currently typing in, for extra focus.
  • Smart Typography: automatically type curly quotes, convert … into an ellipsis, turn two dashes into an emdash.
  • Recent Files: a pane of your recently opened files.
  • Smart Random Note: as elaborated above.
  • Hider, Minimal Theme Settings and Style Settings: for cosmetic customisations.

Writing in Markdown

By default, Obsidian writes in Markdown. If you are not familiar with it, it is a syntax that simplifies formatting and is widely recognised by many apps. Here is an article that explains Markdown a bit more. All your usual keyboard shortcuts, like CMD-B for bold and CMD-I for italics, will work out of the box, they will just produce Markdown formatting instead of the rich text you might be used to.

AO3 does not take Markdown formatting, so you may be wondering how to get your fic out of Obsidian and onto AO3. Happily, there are many options.
  • There is a “Copy as HTML” Obsidian community plugin that converts your text to HTML, so you can just cut and paste it into the HTML box on AO3.
  • You can also use any kind of online Markdown -> HTML converter (here’s one).
  • For Mac users: I love the Drafts app. It is free and has a Copy as HTML function that works great. I use it extensively for quick capture of thoughts and also to draft anything (many tweets start their life in Drafts).
  • One paid option is Marked 2, which is very good for previewing and exporting Markdown. I use Marked 2 to read through all my fics in a formatted manner before I upload them.
  • Other Markdown writing apps might come with the option to export to HTML, so you can use those. I haven’t tried most so can’t comment. The only one I use regularly is iA Writer, and I have to caveat upfront that I was an early adopter and bought it when it was much, much cheaper. I’ve used it for many years and still use it regularly together with Obsidian, depending on which writing environment I’m in the mood for, but the price is quite steep now.

Sync

This is the biggest issue I have with Obsidian, so I wanted to bring it up. Using Obsidian on mobile can be a little fiddly. If you’re all in on the Apple ecosystem, iCloud sync is available for you. Android users have the option of using any app that lets you sync a folder on your device (more here).

However—YMMV, of course—iCloud sync is really janky for me, and I’ve lost work too often to really trust it. There have been too many times when I write a ton of words at home and then go out and try to continue my work on my iPad, only to find that iCloud didn’t upload my file, so I can’t continue working. So personally I stay away from iCloud and just keep my files in Dropbox, which means on my devices, I can’t use Obsidian. I use 1Writer or iA Writer instead. I also find Obsidian’s mobile UI a bit janky, and either of my alternatives is nicer to use, for me.

It’s not really a dealbreaking problem, just something to be aware of if you do a lot of work on the go.

(There is a paid sync option that uses Obsidian’s own servers, but it is prohibitively expensive IMO at $10/month. There is an education discount of 40% if you are a student or staff member of an educational institution. I still feel it is too pricey, but it does work really really well.

UPDATED 13/12/25: Obsidian has now introduced a cheaper sync tier at $4/month, which is more reasonable and becomes very affordable if you have the education discount. Personally I still feel $4/month is more than I would pay for sync, but it's not unconscionable if you consider it a small monthly donation to support some very good software.)

In conclusion…

This has turned out to be a WAY longer write-up than I imagined, and I still feel like I barely scratched the surface of what Obsidian can do.

What I’ve shown here is my writing vault, but I also have a personal vault which I pretty much live in. In there, I use the Daily Notes feature as a journal, and I keep notes on everything in my life:
  • Notes on things I’ve read and watched (quotes, summaries to remind myself of the plot, my thoughts and reactions, if I made a twt thread about it I’ll also save the link here so I can find it easily).
  • Household notes, like when I last serviced my air conditioning, when I last replaced the batteries in my doorbell, things like that.
  • Notes on restaurants where I’ve eaten and what I liked there.
  • Travel notes: every upcoming trip gets its own note and I keep all the info there.
You get the idea. I think the beauty of Obsidian is that it is versatile enough to do all of the above for me in one vault, and also be a dedicated writing app in another vault. Your configuration is completely customisable and unique to each vault, so my personal vault is set up totally different with different layout and plugins. Settings are saved in your vault folder, so any fresh install of Obsidian that opens that folder will load with your entire config intact.

I hope this gave you some ideas and inspiration! Thank you for reading!

First things first, commenting isn’t rocket science. Most of us have left comments on some piece of fanwork at one point or another, and when I say “left comments”, I don’t just mean typing a remark into the AO3 comment box and hitting post, or sending the author a message on Tumblr or Twitter. I also mean the tags you put in reblogs. The tweets you make about it. Anything that’s on some social, publicly accessible platform.

With that in mind, I respectfully ask all commenters to consider the following before typing and posting whatever it is you want to say.

Fandom Appreciation Post

This started out as a small rec post and then evolved into… what you see now, because in the end, I really wanted to give some love to writers who have shaped my fandom experience. Over the years and fandoms I’ve been in, I’ve been so fortunate to be surrounded and uplifted by some of the best people I’ve met. This is for everyone who has been a part of my fandom life. Thank you ♥

I have arranged this list in more or less chronological order for me (based on when this person and I crossed paths), and provided one rec from their oeuvre, though I encourage you to read more than one of their works because it’s all gold.

Hello, dear creator! Thank you for writing for me this HQHols :) I'm eternally grateful already for whatever you'll write, and I know I'll be really excited to see any works at all for these ships, so no pressure!

I'll go a little more into detail about my requests here, in each prompt there is one underlined line that is the heart of the prompt, the rest of it is elaboration and ideas that I'm just throwing out there as inspiration. Feel free to use or ignore any of it as you wish.

Here are the ships I've requested: some of the prompts are ship specific, some can be for any.
For all ships except the last, make it as gen or romantic as you wish, but G or T rating only please!

1. Akaashi Keiji/Kozume Kenma
2. Sugawara Koushi/Kozume Kenma
3. Oikawa Tooru/Kozume Kenma
4. Kunimi Akira/Kageyama Tobio
5. Yaku Morisuke/Sugawara Koushi
6. Ikejiri Hayato/Sawamura Daichi
7. Lazy Squad: Akaashi Keiji, Kozume Kenma, Tsukishima Kei, Kunimi Akira
for the lazy squad, four-way gen only. no polyamory please or romance between two of the four

1) travel fic
I'm really weak for travel. Trains, planes, buses, ROAD TRIPS, give me all the travel fic! For this, my request is easy: just your ship of choice, taking a trip together. I'm not fussy about where, when, mode of transport. I'd love to see them exploring a new place together, or perhaps they're a long distance relationship and Person A goes to visit Person B, who's very excited to take them round their city. I love the dynamics that travel can bring out, the themes of losing yourself and finding yourself again in a brand new setting, and even just the journey itself, gazing out of the window at the rolling scenery, singing bad karaoke on long road trips with the setting sun on the horizon beyond. They can go camping, or stay in a AirBNB, anything you like. Maybe one of them is a travel writer and meets the other in the course of their work. Maybe Person A is a lone traveller and Person B is their AirBNB host!! The possibilities are ENDLESS! (I've gone on a lot about "person A/B" in this elaboration, but please make it four-way with the lazy squad should you choose to go with them, that would absolutely make my day too.)

2) magic realism AU
This is my favourite genre and I am here for all flavours of magic realism, infusing the mundane with a slight magical touch. The more mundane the better. Anything set in the city is great - Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, I love cities and street lights and bicycles and telephone wires. I really like magic realism in "slice of life" type fics like roommate or domestic fics. If you want to combine this with travel fic and make magic realism travel fic I'll probably combust. I'm going to leave this fairly broad since it's not an easy genre and I'm happy to be surprised by your creativity! My favourite kind of magic realism is anything involving time: time jumps, time loops, different timelines, time manipulation, even reincarnation and multiple lives if you can make it work - but this is optional for your consideration.

3) post-canon fic: getting together
I won't go into too much detail for this because I want to leave it open to your interpretation. Anything with the pair aged-up, in university, perhaps taking their first steps into the working world, interacting and getting together is great. They don't even need to "get together" in a romantic sense, just building a friendship would be wonderful. For this I'm thinking particularly of the pairs that don't get much canon interaction, like SugaKen and OiKen; my favourite brand of SugaKen is Suga and Kenma getting to know each other because Daichi comes to Tokyo for uni and Suga hangs out with him and Kuroo and Kenma, anything along those lines, and for OiKen I'd really like to see their competitive streak come out, maybe they face off against each other at an arcade or something. Even for YakuSuga who are actually shown to get along quite well in canon, they don't get much of a chance to interact outside of summer camp, so I'd love to see them in a fic like this as well.

4) for AkaKen: third year canonverse fic
I want to see Akaashi and Kenma navigating their third year in canon. I prefer if Kenma is captain and we also get them interacting captain-to-captain, but there are many ways you can take this. Scenes of them at training camp, Kenma texting Hinata (yes please!) about Akaashi, their teams meeting in practice matches and Interhigh qualifiers, or just Akaken hanging out outside of volleyball and finding a chill space in each other when their teams drive them nuts, talking about pressure, about hopes and dreams, about going to uni, and whether they'll continue playing volleyball. Both of them are really smart, so maybe they meet in cram school or study together, or just hang out at Kenma's house gaming. I love Akaken (this is honestly an understatement of the year) and anything for them in their third year would make me so happy. If you haven't caught up with the manga, it's cool, but if you have, I'd LOVE to see their dynamic in recent chapters being incorporated - the subtle way they spark, get under each other's skins and read each other from across the net.

5) for IkeDai and KuniKage: reconnecting
Ok this is gonna get long because it applies to two of my ships. But basically, for this prompt, I would love to see them reconnecting with each other after years of separation. I'm thinking canon-verse, but if you want to take this in a AU direction, I'd love to see how creative you get!

For KuniKage: I can't stop thinking of that one moment in the Karasuno-Seijou Interhigh match where Kageyama looks across the net and thinks that they were teammates for three years, but this was the first time he'd ever seen Kunimi smiling so naturally during a match. It's heartbreaking, and just makes me wonder - what could have been? What can they be, now that they've both grown up some, and learned what it is to trust others and to be part of a supportive team? And just as Kageyama's noticed the growth in Kunimi, Kunimi, too, has noticed that Kageyama's changed. You can write them talking after a match, hanging out, even in uni - maybe they end up in the same uni team - just basically taking steps to learning each other anew, connecting in a way they couldn't in their younger days.

As for IkeDai: remember Ikejiri's flashbacks to playing with Daichi? Their moments of meeting again at Interhigh prelims, Ikejiri realising how much Daichi's grown, asking him to win and win again, and Daichi clasping Ikejiri's hand in both of his like you got it? I'd love to see something exploring their relationship. Ikejiri thinking of Daichi over the years, what kept him going, them exchanging numbers and maybe getting to know each other all over again. Maybe Ikejiri watching Karasuno's Spring High qualifiers from the stands or on TV and getting emotional. Why did they go to different schools? What kept Ikejiri motivated to play? How will they get on with each other now that they've finally met again? Bonus points for Michimiya Yui to complete the Izumitate Trio.

----

Here's a list of other things I generally like, feel free to go for any of the below if these prompts don't inspire you!
  • long-distance relationships, texting, phone calls
  • slow build
  • roommates fic
  • really mundane things like grocery shopping and housework and cooking, the more "everyday" the better
  • GEN, A LOT OF GEN, AND FRIENDSHIP
  • STEAMPUNK!!!!!
  • historical AU especially Victorian era
  • classical music AU especially piano
  • Kenma growing his hair back out to black sometime in the future I honestly burn for black haired Kenma
  • NON LIP KISSES rev my engines, kisses on the cheek, neck(!!!), jawline, back, palms and knuckles and fingertips, inside of the wrist
And here are some things I'm not so big on in my fic...
  • coffee shop AU
  • genderswap, bodyswap, de-aging
  • smoking, drug use and excessive drinking
  • zombies/vampires/werewolves/merfolk/omegaverse (basically fantastical creatures)
  • infidelity/cheating
  • any AU where there is a vast age difference or a hierarchical difference, e.g. teacher/student, coach/player, boss/employee
  • parenting, kid fic, sappy weddings
  • rape, noncon, anything of that ilk
  • mental illness and social anxiety
  • terminal illness fic, especially cancer.
  • anything that ignores the cultural setting of the fic, e.g. if it's in japan, i don't want the kids learning to drive when they're 16.
  • Characterisation wise: I'm not a big fan of "soft" Suga, I especially dislike the mom trope with him. Make him feisty! Make him punch people in the gut! Make him punch Kenma in the gut! I'm cool with that ;)
And one final final SMALL NOTE...
  • If you're writing a canon fic: I get a little twitchy when characters aren't called correctly, e.g. please don't have Oikawa call Iwaizumi "Hajime", or Suga call Daichi "Dai" or some nickname, since they literally never do so in canon, unless there is a good reason for it. I know there are a lot of names to keep straight so I don't expect perfection but to the best of your ability, I would really love if there wasn't unnecessary variation!! THANK YOU ♥

...wow that was a lot longer than I thought it would turn out.

Thank you so much, dear creator. I'm really excited to see what you do, and I'm very, very thankful :D
